hmmm. tried the gimp and found that after using photoshop for upwards of 5 years, the gimp just didnt "do it" for me....

update: my XP partition was killed off in a freak accident last week. I tried to load a driver to allow me to view files that were in the other EXT3 partition and the BSOD was actually the Master Boot Record being corrupted and the sector 1 being munched on.

I had to add a new drive and reformat the entire drive and havent reinstalled linux again yet. At least I have another 80 gig to play with now...
