Canon BJC-2110 Printer Fails to Print
I am trying to have a Canon BJC-2110 (actually BJC-2114, but CUPS found only BJC2110) print a test page to no avail in Ubuntu 12.04. The printer queue shows no errors and indicates only that the printer is processing the file. The Printer Properties page shows:
Settings
Description: Canon BJC-2110
Location: jul-dl
Device URI: parallel:/device/lp0
Make and Model: Canon BJC-2110-CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.8-pre1
Print State: Processiong page 1, 39%
Tests & Maintenance
Print Test Page
Any help will be much appreciated.

Frank,
Thanks for the suggestion. This site suggests Gutenprint as one of three suitable drivers, which is what CUPS has installed automatically and seems to be working in a way. I cannot really confirm the printer's operation until I install a new BC-21e (black) cartridge as the present one is pretty old. I'll update this post when I am ready.

Good luck.
OpenPrinting.org is the first place I go to check whether a strange printer might work with Linux. It's not infallible, as it depends on volunteers and there are gaps in the database, but, when a particular printer is covered, it's helpful.
