cannot start the X server

Hi,
I have suse 8.2 prof.
I wanted to update Nvidia driver I left the Xserver, but cannot get back to X server! Iam running runlevel 1
Command startx just generates this message:

/usr/X11R6/bin/startx: line 201: xauth: command not found
/usr/X11R6/bin/startx: line 208: xinit: command not found

I understand that xauth means something like X authorisation and xinit X initialisation
I didn't make any update of the driver so nothing should have changed.
Thanks very much

Why do you want to start the X server in runlevel 1.

You can change the default boot by editing /etc/inittab
If you want the system to boot in X, you will have to specify 5 on this line:
Code:

id:5:initdefault:
