Cannot start Oracle Listener


hi..
I've installed oracle 9i on redhat linux advanced sever 2.1. when i tried to start oracle listener, following message appears:

LSNRCTL> start listener
Starting /usr/opt/ora9/product/9.2/bin/tnslsnr: please wait...

TNSLSNR for Linux: Version 9.0.1.0.0 - Production
NL-00280: error creating log stream /usr/opt/ora9/product/9.2/network/log/listener.log
NL-00278: cannot open log file
SNL-00016: snlfohd: error opening file
Linux Error: 2: No such file or directory

Listener failed to start. See the error message(s) above...
------------------------------------------------------------

Please help me

login as user 'oracle' or whatever you have created to use oracle then

lsnrctl start
standard procedure!

dbstart is not working following error message appears:
cat: /etc/oratab: No such file or directory

your oracle installation is bad i guess.

now i'm getting another problem in listener. it's not starting up... showing error message:

Error listening on: (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(PORT=1521))
TNS-12542: TNS:address already in use
TNS-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
TNS-00512: Address already in use
Linux Error: 98: Address already in use

google for the error no's (eg. TNS-12542)!
