Cannot run the program in dos mode - maxmind in dosbox

So far... I have debian 5 installed on a laptop. I am trying to install maxthink on this computer (according to some people here it is the best software after slackware ). I tried to install maxthink on wine (debian default) it complains about some version conflicts and finally gives an error 'c:\windows\system32\Tlist7.ocx' not being registered. tried dosbox. With dosbox while running the application it tells me that 'this program cannot be run in dos mode'.
After about a week of tweaking things I still have no solution. Any pointers or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks for reading.

"Windows 2000, ME, XP, Vista, and Windows 7 compatible. "

This tells me it is unlikely to run normally in dos if ever.

Did you try this in wine?

Yup, that was the first thing I did. Ended up with the same errors. Looked up,on google and someone sucessfully had maxthink installed in dosbox - tried that too. Both of them not working. Complaining about the *.osx not registered.
Thanks for your reply.

Update: Tried to run the app (maxthink) in 'Play on Linux' too. Does not work.
All I have is the main window open and the file option is clickable. Rest of the options on the menu dont even click.
Any further suggestions would be appericiated.
Thanks for your time.
