Have you used the OpenOffice spadmin utility to set up the printer?

Thanks, please help me by telling me how to get the Open Office spadmin utility. I am only new to Linux, having only migrated from Window only recently.

If OpenOffice is installed, spadmin is already installed.

Open a terminal and enter the command: locate spadmin. That should tell you where the spadmin executable is on your system. Then type the full path to that executable and press enter to run it.

I have not needed to use spadmin on any recent distros...eg Mepis65, PCLOS2007

Once a printer is installed to the system, it appears in the options in OOo. Can you print from other apps?

I don't know FC4 in particular but I know in Fedora 7 there is an entry in the gnome menu which let's you configure printers.

System -> Administration -> Printing.
