Cannot play digital TV on mplayer

It works in VLC without any problems, but on mplayer it seems to be impossible. I have everything configured correctly (I think).

I have the configuration file generated by the "w_scan" utility placed on "~/.mplayer" folder:

But when I try to play, I always receive the following error:

Why? Could anyone help me?

The type of my tuner is terrestrial.

Thank you!

I have found a solution that fits perfectly to my needs.

I stream the channel with VLC via UDP and then I play it on mplayer with the following command:
Quote:
mplayer -vo vdpau:deint=4 -vc ffh264vdpau -x 768 -y 432 -cache 8192 udp://127.0.0.1:1234
Works perfectly!

I normally have to do this:

# v4l2-ctl -f 61.25

to set the channel to 3 on my old analog tv card. And then I get to run mplayer:

$ mplayer -quiet -ao null -vo gl_nosw:nomanyfmts -lavdopts fast:skiploopfilter=all:threads=2 -geometry 0%:0% -hardframedrop -vf yadif=1:crop=0:478:0:2,scale -zoom -x 854 -y 480 tv://3

But for the digital card I had briefly, burned out in under 30 days, I found kaffiene a good choice to view it. I vaguely remember using mplayer directly on the /dev/video0 device since it's output was encoded. But that was years ago.

Edit:

In my case I split the audio out via a VCR and connect it from input to output in alsamixer. As in why it's -ao null. There's a cd audio cable from the card, but my mobo doesn't have any cd audio input prongs. And my multiple sound cards don't have that either.

I guess you got some bad luck there, I have one working for 2 years (used daily).

I stopped using it because I got a better one, but that is still working! Both are USB.

Thanks!
