Cannot open VMware2.0 on ubuntu 8.04

i use ubuntu 8.04 and i have installed VMware server 2.0 for a week. it works perfectly until today.Yesterday i just opened it and worked with MS access and today i cannot open it to continue my job

When i typed https://localhost:8333 OR https://localhost:8222 as i used to do in web browser. it showed --> Failed to Connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:8222.

./vmware
@@PRODUCT_NAME@@ is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured
for the running kernel. To (re-)configure it, invoke the
following command: /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl.

So cd to
/usr/bin/
and
./vmware-config.pl

Hi,
I had a similar problem and using your earlier advice I thought I had it fixed.
However, when the VMware Infrastructure Web Access window appears, I input my Login Name and Password and get the reply
"You do not have permission to login to the server"
Can you tell me what i need to do?
VMware 2.0.0 Ubuntu 8.10
Thanks

When you run the script it asks something about who owns or accesses the VMware (you probably said root) what ever user name you gave it then would be able to. you can always logon as that user and add your username or just run the script again.

best of luck!
