Cannot move panel icons
Hi,
I've just installed Kubuntu 13.04, and have placed a few items in the panel including a clock and system tray.
How do I move them to the right end of the panel? Everything is jammed up against the left end.
When I select an icon to move a dark rectangle appears under it and will not move past the right-most icon's position. When I release the icon it pops back to the dark grey rectangle.
There does not appear anything in the settings or advanced settings regarding this behaviour.
I need some icons on the right and some on the left. Can it be done?
Edit: I've just discovered that I cannot move icons on the desktop either. What goes???
Thanks
Jim

If I understand correctly what you are trying to do, and my KDE memory is still working, you can right-click the panel icons, or groups of icons, and select "Move". It's possible that you have to clear the "Lock" checkbox first, I can't remember exactly.
If that doesn't work, I'm not sure.

Ancient history. Now you Unlock Widgets, right-click and select Panel Settings. Then click on the icon and bulky cross-hairs appear and you drag the icon to a new location. I have unlocked widgets. Icons can be dragged to a new location, but they snap back. Icons on the desktop cannot even be dragged.

I think I have things worked out now. Change of rules. I now have to drag the icon's tool bar to move it. Adding a task manager to the panel pushed things into place.
