Cannot Find -lGL

I'm trying to compile something and I keep getting the error "cannot find -lGL" I'm thinking that there's something that I need to install. Does anyone know what I need or why this error is coming up?

I think that's because it can't find OpenGL library (in fact OpenGL headers)
