Cannot control the volume in KDE

I am using FC5 and in KDE, I installed many players like rhythymbox, mplayer,real player,amarok,xine,xmms...but from the begening what I found was that my audio volume couldnot controlled by all my softwares creating any problem...? or may it is due to any other reason...plz help..thanx in advance

If you have two sound cards, like in my case, one of the motherboard and one more then you have to configure the one you want to use and you have the speakers connected to it.
