Cannot conect to X server

I used to export display in this way:

in the server machine: xhost +
in the client machine: export DISPLAY=192.168.1.3:0

and then I could start xeyes or so and everything was OK.

I have just configured KDM and now the previous scheme just don't work.

What can I do?

Shouldn't need all that. On the remote box set /etc/ssh/sshd_config X11Forwarding yes, then restart ssh. Your box;
$ ssh -X <remote>
$ login
$ xclock
Might try ssh -X <remote> first as your remote may already be set.
