cannot access samba after ip change

pretty self explanatory, i have a debian box with a static
ip 192.168.2.77 subnet 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.2.1

i changed the ip to 192.168.2.76 now i can't access the samba share anymore. i get the error message
Quote:
\\192.168.2.76 is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this netwrok resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

blah blah blah
i should also mention it's repeatable "new installation after new installation"

Make sure the new address is not being blocked in smb.conf - hosts allow/hosts deny
