Can you run a 32 bit guest on a 64 bit VM host?

I just wasted alot of time trying to get a 32 bit winbloze to run under a 64 bit QEMU host in 3 different BSDs. All locked up and had to be rebooted the hard way.

Is anybody running a 32 bit copy of winbloze under any 64 bit host using a 64-bit enabled OS (not multilib)? What are you using? VMWare? VirtualBox, etc.?

I have looked over doc and I cannot find any statement that says you can do this. Surprisingly they say you can run a 64 bit guest on a 32 bit host but I want to do the opposite.

Thank you.

Thanks, I'm still looking for a way not to waste my new box :(

Planning to try VirtualBox from Slackbuilds on my old dual core clunker next...

Hi, the non-ose version (.run file) has usb and file sharing access by default.

Free for personal use. Non open source edition, not for enterprise.

I am running W2k in Virtualbox on a 64bits system. I also used to run Ubuntu32 as guest in VB.
