Can you recommend a good simple HMTL reader?
 

Can you recommend a good simple HMTL reader to use on my personal computer to read files on my own disk?

I have quite a few manuals, HOWTOs etc. downloaded (or loaded) in HTML format. I would like a program I can use to read them locally. I am now using galeon and/or mozilla or Konquror. Nothing wrong with that really. It just seems I am loading major programs that are configured the way I want for the internet, when I just want to have a quick read with low menu or toolbar requirements. All links are local.

I am using RH9, gnome and xiamian desktop.

how about epiphany? that is pretty light. for the lightest gui browser i know of, maybe try dillo.

I don't know about a plain local html parser - at least not counting DOS :D - but you might try Dillo. Very very small fast and light. Doesn't do CSS or certain other things but may be sufficient for what you want. Or maybe a console browser - lynx, links, w3m, etc. Actually, mc can parse html files if you hit 'F3-view' on them though that may just be a wrapper for something else.
