can you copy cd protection with dd?

How good is dd. Can it be used to make image files of cds with subchannel info, and other protection?\
Not really into cd burning, but just makes me wonder if you could do same things with dd like with windoze clone-cd, or cdrwin or any other hot cd cloning progies. :Pengy:

dd seems very powerful program to me (but then again I don't know much about cdfs, and all the copy/clone/protection.. stuff)

I used dd to copy "non-standard" format floppies, 1.88 MB capacity...
