Hi there,

Did you look at this: http://www.howtoforge.com/access-lin...s-from-windows

I never tried it, but it looks to be precisely what you are looking for.

Cheers

how it detects the file system of pen drive . i want to know which files are processed when a pen drive is inserted and if a new pen drive is inserted then from where it installs the software .

And where can we edit so that no extra software for viewing "ext2" is required.

please reply after reading the whole content i need precise answer.

thank you

do you mean autorun?
it starts from autorun.inf and if thats not found it looks for autorun.ini.

i didn't asked about the software . i have seen this site before . i want to know that if pen drive is inserted then how it detects that the pen drive is of certain format "like ntfs" .

And if ext2 extension is in pen drive then it does not detect , to which file it goes to check the file system , i basically need to now this answer.

Is there any method by which we can change in that file which is detected when pen drive is inserted .

Or just tell the name of files which is detected when pen drive is inserted.

At last i don't need any software and don't send any link of software to install .

(1) Your first question was answered, and ext2ifs works great. Up to version "c" at least, that site is old.
(2) Your second question about how Windows detects file system types on external media is a Windows question, not a Linux question.
(3) If you don't like that Windows doesn't support ext2/3 natively, go complain to Microsoft.
