Not exactly what you asked for, but I have used Xwin32 and Putty to connect from an XP machine to a linux box and had the X GUI up on the M$ box.

If you see a terminal window open in a green window, then just type "startkde" or whatever WM you use to open up your desktop.

Actually, the best way to get your normal X environment is to edit the ~/.vnc/xstartup file. By default, vncserver runs twm, which is horrible. Get into the xstartup file, comment out the twm line and add the start up command of your normal X environment.

The great thing about VNC on Win is that you can freak the person out on the other end by moving their mouse for them :-). On a more practical note, it's great for educational demonstration and what not. This isn't the default on a Unix system. You end up having another X server which the user on the other end doesn't see. Anyone know if it's possible to maybe export your Input for a given X server to a remote system (i.e have the mouse and keyboard redirected)? I know it's possible to export the display for a given app (which is great when you have some window just pop up on the remote screen), but how could you do this for input as well? I like to mess with my mom while she's playing solitaire :-D.
