Can VMware Server 1.03 and Workstation 6 coexist on the same station?

Hi, I have a T43 that I have Debian on. The only windows I use is in Vmware. The problem is now for work I need to use VMware Server to administer a VM running Oracle. The problem I am having is when I installed VMware server, it removes Workstation. If I reinstall Vmware workstation it removes Server. Is there a quick fix? I hope there is a quick answer or else I will post the exact error messages (and have to go through the freaking script again).

Just a quick note. I tried to install VMware server in a Windows vm but the vmware server installer prevents install into a vm.

I've never had any success getting multiple VMware products installed at the same time.

Actually if you just need to manage a vmware server on another machine all you should need to install is the Client piece of vmware server..

I would think that would co-exist with vmware workstation

Quote:
default@debian:~/downloads/VMWARE$ ls VMware-server*
VMware-server-1.0.3-44356.tar.gz
VMware-server-linux-client-1.0.3-44356.zip

Great, thanks for pointing out that there is a console only version of Vmware server. I now have workstation and the console working on my pc. Thanks for the info.
