Can syncronize PDA to Linux?

It's possible that I may decide to replace my cell phone/PDA combo. Currently I've got a Kyocera 7135 (it's Palm based), and I'll most likely replace it with the Palm 700p.

Will it be possible to syncronize this device (700p) with Linux?

I don't currently use Linux, but the decision to do so is not up in the air; I'm going to do it. However, my current phone is starting to act erractically and I may replace it soon. The issue I need to consider is whether I'll be able to back up the data to a Linux PC.

I'd also like to know if it's possible to syncronize a Windoze Mobile/phone combo to a Linux PC. I probably won't get such a device, since I figure that I need less Microsoft(tm) in my life, not more. However, I'd like to know if it's possible and if it's even an option.

So I'd like to know:

Is it possible to syncronize a Palm/Phone combo device, specifically the Palm 700p, to a Linux PC?

Is it possible to syncronize a Windoze Mobile/Phone combo device to a Linux PC?

I use Verizon(tm) so I'm not able to consider any phone they don't offer, and I figure if I replace the phone I may as well get the 700p and not the 650.

I'd appreciate any input I can get.

MODS: Please transfer this thread.

Shortly after I posted this, I noticed that there's a forum that appears to be dedicated to Linux and Handhelds (which to be is the same as PDAs). I think that forum is more appropriate for this post, so if you think so to please transfer this thread.
