Can someone identify what might be wrong with my amsn?
Hi,
I downloaded a binary rpm and tried to install it.However, it said something about 'wish' not being installed. I asked around and found out that I needed a package called tcltk. I couldn't find any binary rpm's for it, but I did find some thing on Synaptic and installed that. That allowed amsn to be installed, whci was great. However, it won't connect for some reason.Whenever I put my name and password in, it tries to login but stops after about 2 secs. I know my login details are right and yes, I am connected to the net :) any help much appreciated |
try to download the last version of amsn at: http://amsn.sourceforge.net. and intsall it. you only must to unzip and untar the file, it comes with the binaries (amsn).
wish is a interpreter, i use redhat 9 and it comes in the package tk-8.3.5-88.i386.rpm. if you want to find the package for you distro go to: http://rpmfind.net and search: /usr/bin/wish and it shows you a list of packages, you only must choose the best for you distro, good look |
Thanks very much for the advice.
Much appreciated. I have RedHat 9 also. I'll try the latest version and see what happens. BTW: I downloaded and tried to install tk-8.3.5-88.i386.rpm and it said it was already installed. Thanks again |
thanks aigartua.
