Can someone explain this to me, please?

Hi!

Take a look to this picture... The left one is a 3038x2021 RAW picture viewed at 1100% opened with GQView. The right one is exactely the same file, the same zoom, but opened with The Gimp.

Why is this HUGE difference between those images? I tried several filters to the gimp to make the image look like the one viewed in GQView, with no avail. I'm no expert in digital photo, but I'd like to know why is this difference.

Thanks in advance

maybe GQView is using anti aliasing while it is zooming a picture!!!
but , if you want to do the same thing in gimp , you have to change the resolution of the image to a higher rate and then apply a blur effect

regards
Arsham

Is there any "anti-alias" effect on The Gimp the same way GQView works? I think 3038x2021 is a huge image, and it's the maximum of my camera

try google
I don't know any , but may recieve the same ( near ) result with couple of filters
