can red hat 7.2 kernel 2.4.5 recognize rs232 to work as its keyboard port

Can red hat 7.2, kernel 2.4. and above recognize rs232 to work as its keyboard port.
How can I get the kernel 2.4.5 to recognize the rs232 as its keyboard port?

It should work as the keyboard port. What settings do you use?

kernal 2.4.and above to recognize the keyboard

Thank you for the response.
I guess i didn't phrase my question right. I am trying to use ttyS1 for the keyboard device instead of ps2. It looks like the kernel (2.4.5) isn't recognizing this as the keyboard. Is there a package i need to enable for this?
