Can OOo display .html files?
I have recently installed Mandrake 9.1 on a computer without internet access. Thinking I would not need a browser I opted NOT to install one. Now I have a few .html documents that I would like to view, but am unable to do so.
I know OOo can create web-pages so I tried to get it to display some. So far, no luck. Can OOo display .html docs? If so, how can I get it to do so? Thank you |
open html
Start OpenOffice in Writer mode. (Or, just open an OpenOffice document.)
On the menu select file>open. Make sure the dialogue is set to view "all files *.*". Find your html file. Click on it. It should open. OpenOffice html display is not always 100% correct, but generally it displays. But how did you install "without a browser?" If you are using KDE desktop, the "Konqueror" browser is also the file browser, so wouldn't it be loaded automatically? Or are you running without a desktop? |
Thank you, basd.

Didn't see your question until after I posted my thank you. I'm running Gnome. When I click on an .html document I get a message stating that a viewer is not available. My file manager under Gnome is Nautilus. Under Nautilus I get thumbnails for other things but not for .html docs.
Thanks again for the help. |
