Does root's home directory exist and is it owned by root? Does a fail-safe session work?

Dear,,

I knew the problem now . . .

Before , I hashed the following lines in /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession file
# elif [ -x /etc/X11/xinit/Xclients ]; then
# exec -l $SHELL -c "$DBUS_LAUNCH /etc/X11/xinit/Xclients"
# else

I knew that i must remove the hash and activate these lines again then i can log in using root again.
But i don't know how to edit this file ( /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession )
Because until now , i can't log in graphical mode using root.
Can i edit it from grub mode?
