Can not insatll Samba
 
After downloading samba-3.0.23 on the internet, I do not know how to install it on my Red hat Advance 3.0 server. Anybody helps me as aprracdidate

What kind of package did you download (e.g. rpm, tar.g.z etc)? RHEL ships with Samba so I am sure you could just install it from your discs.

My downloaded package rmp format file . I also invoke a command "rpm -ivh sam....rpm"

AFAIK you need 3 packages (samba, samba-client and samba-common) inorder to successfully run samba. BTW, your RHEL ships with samba, if its not installed already (check with 'rpm -q samba'), its on the discs, you can install all of them from the discs.
