can linux do anything with .dmg files?
i downloaded a .dmg.bz2 file. i bunzip2'ed it, which worked fine, but can linux do anything with a .dmg file? i'm pretty sure it's some kind of macintosh thing like .hqx or .sit

According to The File Extension Source the DMG file format is a "Macintosh OS X Disk Copy Disk Image File".

I know this thread is old but can Linux use .dmg files. I mean that was his original question. Does anyone know?
