Can install a Freespire/Linspire CNR Kplayer Dvd player in Suse 10.1?
Has anybody out there been able to use the Linspire/Freespire CNR service to get a copy of Kplayer, and install it on a different Linux distribution (say, using alien or some other method)? I would like to do this with Suse 10.1. I'm fed up with reading that libdvdcss isn't declared legal in the USA, and also with dual-booting to Windows XP to use Nero Showtime.

Haven't tried to copy anything from a CNR installed program to another distro. I currently am using Kubuntu 7.04 until Freespire 2.0 is released so I can't try it at the moment. But I think the new CNR.com will support SUSE.

Wow, that has me drooling. I entered the Linspire/Freespire realm using a linspire.com URL, and didn't even know there was a CNR.com. I'm demoted to a newbie, again.
There is an e-mail notify sign up, to let us know when CNR.com goes live. I'll wait a little longer. I'm not going to spend RAM stick, PS and CPU upgrade money on processor overhead sludge-filled Vista. |
