can I use my suse 9.3 dvd to install packages

Can I use my suse 9.3 dvd 1 to install packages into suse 10.0? or will it mess things up.

I'm not sure why you would do that unless they stopped making a package. If you want to install a 9.3 package on 10.0, you can get the myfile.src.rpm package and recompile it for 10.0.

rpmbuild --rebuild *.src.rpm
rpm -ivh /usr/src/where/it/was/just/written.rpm

And that's it. The source files come with the DVD and CD packages. Good luck.

THanks I have teh 10.0 eval disk, I just placed the order for the full set with the manuals tonight, so it'll be a week or so before they get here.
