Can I use FreeBPX along with custom dial-plan code?

We need to provision a new PBX - we are running Asterisk 2, and want to upgrade. But up till now I've done everything via manual text-editing. That's fine for me, but it means that if I die, noone will be able to manage the phone system and that leads me to consider a GUI.

So, since we have to upgrade, I have decided to do a complete overhaul.

Now, I've already ruled out using Elastix because it does more than I want. But FreeBBX looks like a good option. But my concern is that since I am so accustomed to hand-coding the dialplan, if I use FreeBPX, am I going to lose that option? I really like to do write the code because you can be so creative.

Any advice would be wonderful!

Easy now.

I use FreePBX 12.0.9 with asterisk 13 underneath.

You can create dialplans from the CLI, OR you can code them in the GUI. under Connectivity -> Outbound Routes.

Easiest thing I can tell you to do, is grab the FreePBX ISO and run it. Set up a temporary install and test it out.

It does everything I need it to, but I only have 20 people in the office.

Also, there is a FreePBX forum on the FreePBX site that is ran by the lead developer and CEO. They are fast to answer questions.

Thanks for answering! (I don't mind if nobody has an answer, but it is easy to lose heart if nobody says anything)
I have FreePBX set up on my server and am trying to configure it. I will need to add some custom code from my original asterisk configuration and just wanted to be assured that I could do this with FreePBX.
So you are able to add custom code in the diaplan? - I mean, custom code directly in the code files? That's where I am looking for an affirmative from someone who has done it.

Also, I can't seem to access http://www.freepbx.org/ - either the server is down or my routers is blocking the site... Can you access it?
