Can I run Mozilla without starting X?

I would like to run a browser without actually starting up X. (startx) Is it possible or does the browser depend on X API calls to work?

install and run lynx - it is a great txt based browser.

If you put the path to mozilla in your x startup files you can run mozilla only in an x session with no window manager etc. But youd still have to start x
