can i lirc with usb irDA ...?

I just bought a usb irDA and would like 2 use on my linux machine with lirc. How do I configure it as...?
please help

just like any other USB device.

You must have the IR options enabled in your kernel and then I think it's just a question of using it like any other /dev haven't fired mine up in ages...

You will need the IRDA urilities package that may already be in your

I'm afraid that you cant use your usb device with LIRC

No, it's technically not possible to use USB IrDA dongles with LIRC.
