Can I create a write-only Samba directory share?

I have tried to use all combinations of permissions for the shared directory (720, 730,632, etc.) No matter what I do, if I get the share so that a user can write a file to it, the user can also change it. I need for each user to be able to save a file to the directory and that is all. Thanks!!!

You need to set the directory permissions to allow users to write to that directory. Samba then has a tool for defining the default permissions of files written to that share
Code:
create mask = 0444
Place that in the smb.conf file under the share in question. Keep in mind, that if a user creates a folder in the share, then the default permissions of the folder will be read-only.

The above example will give the owner, members of the owner's group and all other users read-only permissions on any file written to that share.

Thanks for the help. Users can now save to the folder but only with read and execute permissions. They can, therefore, open and change text files etc. that are saved there.
