Can Emacs do this ?

I have used the nano editor alot, and both vi(m) and emacs occasionally.

I want to really learn an powerful editor and I have decided on emacs.

Some things I haven't got working/don't know how to do yet:

* Be able to hide sections, like for example kate's '-/+' signs in '
the margin.

* Code completion (HTML/CSS/Javascript/PHP), apparently nxhtml-mode
should be the solution, but haven't get it working.
