Angry can ejay work with wine?

I downloaded ejay gold edition demo and tried running it with wine-20030508 and got "currupt instillation detected" i couldn't think of anything else to do but try another ejay so I downloaded the "ejay music director demo" and tried running it...it opened an empty looking dialogue box but still had the esentiall controls so i tried installing and it got to 100% but never completed! Anyway I checked the instilation folder and it there was an exicutable which i ran with wine but all it done was give me a splash sreen and nothing happened after that!

NOTE: I'm only trying ejay because I don't know what else there is out there for recording...I don't really need anything too advanced I just want to play around with layering and so on (I play guitar.)

I had a good program in windows for the job but I had a hardware conflict that made windows useless...I think it was called multisession...but i'm sure you can imagine how many cd writing utilities come up in a search for that!

i just got the newest wine yesterday... and I just tried installing ejay on linux (Gentoo) and it works fine.

I play guitar, keyboard, and drums, and I use Pro Tools for all my stuff...
If you look around on ebay, you can find a windows version for like 50$ and its on of the best audio tools any musician can have in my opinion

pro tools

thanks for the info...I don't really feel like setting up wine again...I'm a newbie and I found it harder than I should have. I'm looking forward to the hastle of setting up a mic input though...basic things like that seem to go wrong for me! I blame onboard sound and lack of linux support for my decent sound card (soundblaster 16 PCI, not great but aint to noisy unlike the onboard sis I'm runnin which gets noisy around 50% volume!)

PS - just being nosey...what kinda guitar you play...I have an ESP H-202 (red)!

"0xdeadbeef (OLEAUT32.DLL..reloc+0x5ebd0eef): *** Invalid address 0xdeadbeef (OLEAUT32.DLL..reloc+0x5ebd0eef)"

that's what i get in my console when the ejay splash screen comes up! I'm having the same OLEAUT32.DLL problem with pro tools (free version from the pro tools website [5.1 or something]) I have the dll in c/windows/system...should it be in system32?? Should I add a dlloverdrive tab to wine?
