Can anyone tell me what I need to do when running into a tar: Unexpected EOF error?
I am trying to install BigBrother, a monitoring tool, onto my RedHat Server box.
When doing so I had to type the following:
# tar xvfz bb-1.9c.tar.gz
In doing so...I received this error message:
bb19.tar
gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
It seems like it is downloading some files... (i.e. bb19.tar) and then stopping for some reason. I removed the files from my directory, and redownloaded...but the error still comes back up. Does this mean that the file is corrupted?? It was working just fine yesterday. Could anyone, with my deepest appreciation, give me advice as to what to do. I've all ready reloaded this software about 6 times, and if I can bypass that, then it would be so wonderful.
Thank you in advance for your help and advice...
Have a fabulous Labor Day weekend...
