Can't switch back to Windows

I hope some one can help me. I just installed Slackware Linux 9.1 and can't seem to get back into Windows. My platform is; Intel P4 (423) 1.7GHz, 512 RDRAM, 60GB primary, and 120Gb secondary, DVD-ROM, Sony DVD burner. I have two OS's on the first hard drive and all the help books I've read, told me that I should be able to just type 'dos' and the command prompt. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Also, I'm running Windows XP MediaCenterEdition 2002, could that be my problem??? Please email me at; jcthei@gmail.com

That's not how it works...answers here.

When you installed Linux, what options did you select for setting up a boot loader? What do you get at start-up?

If there is no boot loader, you cannot get in to anything. You can use a live CD distro like Knoppix to install grub (boot loader).

You can get Windows back by booting with the windows install CD--rescue mode. when you get to a prompt, type "fixmbr"

I used the LILO boot loader that came with Linux. Is GRUB easier to install and configure? Where can I download GRUB?

No GRUB is not really much easier to configure, if you have LILO already it's not worth switching to GRUB. Why don't you post your lilo.conf file so we can see what you are missing.

I installed a newer version of the Slackware distro and configured LILO using the expert mode. At that point, I was able to add my Windows partition to the LILO.conf file. Now I have all my music and Windows partitions in Linux. Thanks for the help guys.
