Can't start Firefox (finishing extension installation)

Firefox crashed while it was installing the Java plugin and now when I try to start it up it says
Firefox is finishing installing extensions. This could take a minute...
And it just sits there. What can I do?

Uhh did you go to a Java page and then click on the link to download the plugin when that message box came up?
You probably won't get it to install like that, unless they've updated it in the 0.9 version.
Just try re-downloading firefox. Save all your bookmarks and stuff, and then just use the new firefox. It's not too much of a hastle.

Well first it says I need the Java plugin. Click OK to download it. I click OK. It takes me to the Java page and the Extensions window comes up automatically. Downloads Java. Installing Java... Crash.

Actually there's a painless solution of that problem. Go to ~/.mozilla/firefox/default.2aw/extensions/ and see the Extension.rdf file. If there is a text about the new 'crashing' extension, just delete the file
After that start firefox and work normaly

Well this thread is about 4 months old so I've reinstalled Firefox long ago (and have Java working)...
But, I will remember that.
