There is a bug in the Ledger Nano S Chrome app install. A file in /usr/bin called "Ledger Wallet Ripple" needs to be renamed "Ledger" to make it work. I tried mv and rename in the terminal, neither worked.
Is there an easy way I can simply rename this 6.8M file?
Did you try mv and/or rename as root or with root (sudo). A normal user is not likely to have permissions to change anything in /usr/bin/ so if you have Mint, use sudo mv. Either do it in the parent directory or put the full path in the command. Also, if you are doing this in a terminal you will need to either escape the spaces in the file name or put it in quotes.

You need to use sudo/root and you need to either escape the spaces in the file name or put it in quotes as below, first change to the /usr/bin directory:

OR, from anywhere in the system, give the full path:
