Can't rename Ledger Wallet Ripple program file

There is a bug in the Ledger Nano S Chrome app install. A file in /usr/bin called "Ledger Wallet Ripple" needs to be renamed "Ledger" to make it work. I tried mv and rename in the terminal, neither worked.

Is there an easy way I can simply rename this 6.8M file?

Did you try mv and/or rename as root or with root (sudo). A normal user is not likely to have permissions to change anything in /usr/bin/ so if you have Mint, use sudo mv. Either do it in the parent directory or put the full path in the command. Also, if you are doing this in a terminal you will need to either escape the spaces in the file name or put it in quotes.

What's the source of your information, that the file needs to be changed to 'Ledger'?

This is the source:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwalle...ys_even_after/

User amougel is a ledger developer.

I was sure I used sudo, I just went back to check my terminal commands & I only see

Code:
mv /usr/bin/Ledger Wallet Ripple /usr/bin/Ledger
I'll try again using sudo...

You need to use sudo/root and you need to either escape the spaces in the file name or put it in quotes as below, first change to the /usr/bin directory:

Code:
sudo mv "Ledger Wallet Ripple" Ledger
OR, from anywhere in the system, give the full path:

Quote:
sudo mv /usr/bin/"Ledger Wallet Ripple" Ledger

The file renamed after I used sudo & quotes. Ripple wallet still doesn't work on linux. I may have to buy a Macbook.

Well, good luck with it. I'm not familiar with the software so have no idea why it doesn't work.
