Can't install latest JRE

When I try to execute I get this error

Quote:
error: cannot open Providename index using db3 - No such file or directory (2)
error: cannot open Basenames index using db3 - No such file or directory (2)
error: Failed dependencies:
glibc >= 2.1.2-11 is needed by jre-1.5.0_01-fcs
sh-utils >= 2.0-1 is needed by jre-1.5.0_01-fcs
fileutils >= 4.0-8 is needed by jre-1.5.0_01-fcs
gawk >= 3.0.4-1 is needed by jre-1.5.0_01-fcs
textutils >= 2.0-2 is needed by jre-1.5.0_01-fcs
/bin/sh is needed by jre-1.5.0_01-fcs
I don't understand what's going wrong with this.. Is there something in particular I'm lacking?

Can you be more specific on what you're trying to do?
Add a jave plugin for a browser??? Your message says
you are missing certain libraries. I had simliar problems
when I was adding JRE to fire fox. I forgot which is which.
One JRE is a *.rpm*bin file. The other is a *.bin file. I succeeded
by using the other one.

Worst case, add those missing utilities in.
What distribution are you using? Does the distribution
have a special mean to add stuffs? E.g. Xandros has
Xandros Network, debian has apt-get, etc. So for debian
you might use

apt-get install glibc (not sure about syntax)
