Can't view or delete installed programs in mandrake

I recently installed Mandrake 9.2, everything went just fine untill it asked for
cd 3. I didn't have the cd but continued anyway. But now to the problem:

when i press the "view installed program button" or any other of the three buttons in the same window like update mandrake or install new programs nothing happens.

It almost seems as the "view installed program" program and other similiar
programs are not installed on my system. If that is the case, how can I install them and can I install new programs without it?

" how can I install them and can I install new programs without it?"

You can completely maintain your rpm packages with command line rpm. Read:
man rpm

Another install program that is more convenient but less versitile than rpm is kpackage. Set your *.rpm mimlink to kpackage and then whenever you click on a rpm file it will open in kpackage. If you do not have kpackage installed it is one of the programs in the kdeadmin package.

Be prepared. Create a LifeBoat CD.
