Unhappy Can't sync Sony Ericsson W800 with Kontact

Hi All

I am a linux newbie who recently dumped windows for OpenSuse 10.2. I am trying to sync my Sony Ericsson W800 with Kontact using KitchenSync. When I choose to sync, it gives me an OBEX error. I think it might have something to do with my mobile not being mounted correctly. It gets mounted as a camera under /dev/sda1. When I check the hardware information (Yast -> Hardware -> Hardware Information -> USB -> Sony Ericsson), it gives 2 mount points:

ttyACM0 - modem
ttyACM1 -unspecified device

Is there drivers I need for my mobile?

Will appreciate the help.

I have a Sony w800i and it works "out of the box" so to speak with KmobilTools, thats the only program i found that i could sync with my phone. That was a year ago though. As for Kontact and kitchen Sync I've never used either
in KMobilTools i set the device to /dev/ttyACM0 and never used any drivers. to get the phone book up though and sms browsing you have to select them in the settings. Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply.

Tried using KMobileTools, but get the following error message:

"An error occurred while initializing mobile phone device. Check your configuration and try again"

I tried using ttyACM0, ttyACM1 and sda1.

Talking

Thanks for the reply. I managed to fix it by changing my OS to Kubuntu. Now a new problem I have is syncing my mobile calendar to the Kontact calendar. Hope I can sort this, because this is the real reason why I want to sync my mobile.

Regards,
John
