Can't startx, font errors
 
I did an apt-get install gnome and apt-get install xserver-xorg and after startx I get:

Does the file /etc/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy exist? What are its permissions (ls -l /etc/X11/xserver/SecurityPolicy)?

Perhaps, since you just recently installed X itself, you have not installed fonts?
