Can't Shutdown Computer!
Hey again, I'm having some serious trouble here.
This is how it happened. I had Slackware11 until yesterday, today I installed Slackware12, and everything was fine until I tried to shutdown my computer with poweroff (as I used to) and it said that I had to be root, which is obvious, so I logged in as root, but when I tried again it kept saying that I had to be root!! So I really don't know what to do. I hope someone can help me, well, I'll be here until I get some answer (LOL). |
What happens if you try 'shutdown -h now'?
|
logout ,then login as root..remember,don't use "su" to login as root...
then have a try ..good luck!^_^ |
shutdown -h now says the same thing, and i already tried logging as root.

I fixed the issue.
As always in linux, the problem was between the keyboard and the chair. I was triying to give user permissions to execue poweroff, but I mistyped the permission numbers =). Thanks anyway! |
