I tried installing the ndiswrapper-0.4.rpm from Madndriva's repository, which is the one for Mandrake 10.0 official, but after I install it, nothing happens. The installer asks if I want to install it, root pw, etc, and it seems to go through, but I can't use the ndiswrapper command. I checked /usr/bin/, /usr/sbin/, /sbin/, all the places it could hide, and did a search of my comp, but couldn't find the binary anywhere. The newest thing I found was an ndiswrapper folder in /lib/modules/3.2.4.7(kernel version, i think)/, but it was empty.

So I tried compiling it from the source, but it said "Couldn't find kernel sources" for I think it was 3.2.4.7, or something like that, I can't remember exactly. I'm taking that I need to find get the sources for my Kernel in order for it to compile, would those be on the CDs?

I'm curious to why the rpm isn't working... any ideas?

I am aware that Mandriva 2006 has ndiswrapper on it already, but I'm getting a working copy (hopefully) from my friend on wednesday, so I'm not going to download a new distro right now, when I'm on limited bandwidth...

When you compiled it from source, did you do a "make ; make install"? If so, the binary should be in /usr/sbin. I know you said you compiled it, but I just want to cover all the bases and work our way up.
