can't save kAddressBook
 

Hi,
I'm running RH7.3 with the KDE desktop and kMail. When I try to add names to the address book, kAddressBook, I get an alert "Couldn't save addressbook".

I thought perhaps there is a permission problem. I've searched my home directory and tried to guess where else this file would be stored. I can't find it.

problem solved!
 

I found the folder,
file:/home/jonathan/.kde/share/apps/kabc/lock
had a couple of files in it. I deleted them both, and now I can save my address book!

Thanks! - This solution also works for SuSE 8.1.

Next problems

1. If you change the relative size of the columns in the address display box, kaddressbook won't save those changes.

2. Also, when you re-open kaddressbook it's sometimes necessary to click on a column heading to get the addresses actually do display (though they're in there somewhere....)

Any solutions out there?
