Can't run X Windows after kernel update

I am running Fedora Core 5 on an Intel Pentium IV system. I just updated to kernel 2.6.17-1.2145_FC5. I have an nVideo GeForce 3 video card. I downloaded the latest driver of that card and built it for the kernel.

Now when I try to start X Windows I get the following output:

xauth: creating new authority file /home/tron/.serverauth.4551

X Window System Version 7.0.0

What do I need to do so I can run X Windows again?

Yes, I did. There would have been no point doing otherwise. I was already running a compiled version of the driver for the kernel that was in use at the time I was updating the system.

I guess I should say that after installing the new kernel, I changed the run level to 3 and rebooted the system. The system booted up to the new kernel, and it was at that time I compiled the driver, and tried to start X Window manually.

Someone on another forum was able to help me with the problem. Executing:
# yum --enablerepo=livna install kmod-nvidia

solved it.
