Can't remove sendmail hooks
Hello! I am having trouble removing init hooks having to do with the evil sendmail, which doesn't work with my ISP anyway. I have done 'aptitude purge sendmail' and still see the following messages in my bootlog. After the 'forced reload' message a one minute delay occurs, which may be due
to the presence of a resolvconf script in the dhcp hooks directory, but that's another issue. Fri Jan 27 18:21:45 2006: Setting up IP spoofing protection: rp_filter. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks! :study: |
can remove sendmail hooks
Hold all calls, we have a winner! I neglected to purge sendmail-base and sendmail-bin. Once I removed those two POS's, my boot time went from 6 minutes to 2 minutes. Other daemons (i.e. named) which were pausing one minute
now come up cleanly in less than a second. :D |
