Can't post news from Opera 10.0

Hullo All,
I am running Fedora 11 x86_64 and recently upgraded from Opera 9.x to Opera 10.
It has been some time since I last posted to a newsgroup, and have never had any trouble doing so.
A couple of days ago I composed a message to a newsgroup and hit the 'send' button. Opera put it in the Outbox and it has been there ever since, and hitting the 'Check/Send' button has no effect.
At first I thought it might have something to do with my news server doing updates only a couple of times a day or somesuch, but not so. I have had news messages delivered but this outgoing message still sits in the Outbox.
I have had a look at my Mail and News account settings, and all appears to be correct.
I have tried deleting the message from the Outbox, and composing a new message, just in case there was something odd about the first, and also tried posting to another news group...all have no effect, the outgoing messages sit in the Outbox.
I am beginning to wonder if my ISP has some sort of a problem, but normal email (which is also sent to the same outgoing smpt server works OK.
No error messages seen anywhere.
Does anyone have and ideas?

Cheers,
Terry

All I can say is that I have successfully posted to newsgroups since I moved to Opera 10.0. I have had no problems with Giganews or with the Opera newsgroups.

You don't mention who your newsgroup provider is. Try subscribing to the Opera newsgroups (they are free) and test there/

Opera newsgroups: news://news.opera.com/

It's nice to meet another newsgroup kind of guy.

News is provided free to me by my internet service provider.
I had a look at the opera newsgroups, but I can't see any of the groups I subscribe to available there. Must be looking in the wrong place.
I am almost convinced it is something that is not right with my installation of Opera 10, as I have set up Thunderbird and also Pan using the same newsgroup server and account details, and they both post news OK. In the meantime (it is now days) Opera 10 still steadfastly refuses to send off news posts.
I have asked a question on the Opera forum, so may learn something there.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
Terry

If, as you say, you cannot see the newsgroup listings you are accustomed to seeing, and you cannot post, this is most likely because the new Opera version is not properly configured for Usenet. You need to tell Opera the details of your Usenet server and reacquire your newsgroup listings.

With my news account set to my usual news server I can see all the newsgoups in the world, no problem, and it under this setting that I can't post.
I was referring to what I saw when it was pointed to the Opera news stuff at the link provided. There were groups there, but only dealing with opera, none of the usual newsgroups.
I can start up Thunderbird and set up a news account at my normal server and it can post news OK, so it is clearly something wrong with Opera or some devious setting somewhere that has only appeared with version 10.0.

Terry

Workaround found

[snip]
I can now report that I found a workaround for this problem with my version of Opera 10.0.
My news and email account settings were set to queue outgoing mail and news, the usual scenario being that queued items would be sent when one selected 'Check/Send' or when the usual fetch/send time interval came around again. This is how it has worked OK for many past versions of Opera.
With this setting, email would be sent but the news would not and the outbox would show the unsent files and the time it thought it had sent them. Selecting 'Check/Send' would update the 'sent' time, but do nothing else.
Changing the account settings to NOT queue outgoing mail/news works OK.
I have sent in a bug report.

Thanks to all who helped.

Cheers,
Terry
