can't load linux from cd
I downloaded rh7.3 and put them on cd-r. When I tried to boot from disk 1, it does not reconize the disk. I used nero to burn in the iso mode. What did I do wrong. How do I make the cd bootable. Also tried to make a boot.img to a floppy and the file is to large for the floppy. Any help would be great.

Did you check the MD5 hashes of the ISO images before burning them onto CD-Rs?
As a last resort, poke around on the RedHat CD-ROM you burned, there should be bootable floppy images there, as well as instructions on how to create these floppies (even from Windoze/DOS). However, if your ISO images were corrupted (i.e. MD5 hashes don't match), then this won't help at all... |
